EM Alliance is assisting our partner hospital in the recruitment of an Emergency Medicine Program Director to lead a new community-based EM residency program in Lakewood Ranch, Florida. This is a rare opportunity to build a program from the ground up- while still maintaining a clinical presence.
EM Alliance is founded and led by practicing Emergency Physicians. - Not private equity.
The Opportunity
- Emergency Medicine Program Director - Founding Role
- Southwest Florida new Residency Program based out of Lakewood Ranch Medical Center
- First Resident Class anticipated July 1, 2028
Role Highlights
- Founding Program Director for a new community-based EM residency
- Compensation Compensation (administrative + clinical time)
- Strong institutional and administrative support
- Protected administrative time
- Already secured affiliation agreements to provide access to volume and acuity for adult and pediatric patients
- Program Director reports to the DIO
- Lakewood Ranch Medical Center, the Sponsoring Institution + Multiple Pre-established Partner Sites equal over 200,000 annual ED visits
- We have secured rotations at other community and academic hospitals to ensure our residents have access to the volume, acuity and procedures for adult and pediatric patients necessary to prepare them for competent independent practice as Emergency Medicine physicians
Requirements
- Current board certification by the ABEM/AOBEM and specialty expertise
- Recent PD or Associate PD experience required
- 3+ years of recent documented educational and/or administrative experience in an accredited ACGME program
- Demonstrated ability as a leader, educator, and clinician
- Recent history of scholarly activities/research
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and leadership skills
